This blog is used to capture the progress of building of our new house in Aldie, Va. In essence the blog is for us to have something to look back on in the future and reminisce in the wild time this is going to be, but it's also for anyone else who is interested in seeing what's going on. 41546 Radlett Lane, Aldie, Va 20105 :: 703.327.4046

Floor, Granite, and Tile
We had a chance to see the house again on Sunday, 11/14. We're really pleased with the kitchen and family room. The tile in the upstairs bathrooms was a little bit of a surprise. Back in July we spent about 3-4 hours picking out the flooring for the entire house. We had a short timeline and didn't have much opportunity to second guess our choices that we made in one evening, but we felt pretty comfortable with them. Seeing it yesterday, we were pleased with the vinyl that we chose for the kitchen (despite the worry that it might look cheesy). We really hadn't thought much about the tile for the upstairs bathrooms. The master bath turned out nothing like what we thought we had picked out, although we admittedly couldn't remember much of what we chose! The tile is very dark and the accent doesn't have the affect we thought it would when we looked at the 6 inch sample. Looking at the pictures now, I think we'll grow to like it, but it might take a little time.
